Novel automotive systems for safety and comfort, innovative smart biomedical solutions for the monitoring of vital body functions, recent developments in consumer electronics for high-tech visualisation – these are all examples for fascinating new products, based on innovations in microsystems.
The ongoing efforts in the development of microsystems aim at further miniaturisation, steadily increasing performance and further extended reliability. These developments are driven by new technologies, such as new materials, nano science, improved semiconductor processing, complex micro-fabrication, or by new physical principles, like the GMR-effect.
In order to cope with these dynamics and challenges, both technology driven and customer oriented, cooperation is essential to stay ahead with cutting edge solutions. As a consequence, companies are always striving for the best and most suitable partners from science and industry for the development of the next generation of microsystems.
With this in mind Bayern Innovativ Ltd., project coordinator of the international network BAIKEM, will organise the international platform “Innovation in Microsystems” comprising a congress and a one-on-one cooperation event. Once again this forum will be arranged together with NEXUS, the European Microsystems Network and with the support of the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology.
The congress focusing on trends in technologies and devices will cover customer expectations from various branches and will outline new market opportunities.
The one-on-one cooperation event at the following day will provide the opportunity to participate at approximately 12 business meetings with companies and institutes, individually selected early in advance of the congress. More than 20 partner organisations will support the acquisition of participants from Europe, USA and Asia.
Please bear in mind that online matching for the one-on-one event starts at the end of January 2008 to be able to arrange the individual business meetings. Online registration is still open.
