Advances in stem cell research and cell biology offer new opportunities in immunotherapy and potentially for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. The translation into novel therapies requires fundamental research, novel technologies and the close cooperation with clinical research.

With this in mind, the international 'Network Life Science' conceives and organises in close cooperation with the University of Erlangen the Cooperation Forum "Cell-based Therapies".

The main topics include:

  • Trends and Strategies in science and industry
  • Technology platforms for production of cell therapeutics
  • Bioengineering and Automation technologies
  • Clinical applications in immunotherapy and cell transplantation

Confirmed speakers from companies such as Roche, Siemens, Miltenyi, Apceth, Aurigon and Magnetodyn as well as from research institutions from Erlangen, Regensburg, Munich and Loughborough (UK) will present.

Visit of medical imaging technologies at the Institute of Medical Physics and Siemens AG

On the preceding day to the conference (26th March 2012), participants will have the opportunity to visit hybridimaging technologies (MR-PET) for clinical applications at the Institute of Medical Physics as well as to take part in a company visit of Siemens AG showing the production of Magnetic Resonance tomography devices. The number of participants is limited and participation requires prior registration.
